The rationale
‘Early intervention’ has long been cited as the key to effective group income protection but, even though attempts have been made to encourage absence to be reported early, ‘early’ has never really amounted to fewer than several weeks after an absence has started. This is still more than enough time for an absence mindset to become embedded and make returning to work a real challenge.
